Title or Location: Bridge Beneath The Falls
In my younger days I spent 2 combat tours in Vietam. In 1966 I was an Artillery 1st Lieutenant with an additional duty as an Aerial Observer Fwd Air Controller. We flew the DMZ and into N Vietnam. My 2nd tour came in 1971. By then I was a Captain Helicopter pilot. The horrors of war did not minimize the natural beauty of the country side. The mountains, jungles, rice paddies and waterfalls were living travel posters. The people went about their lives as they have done for hundreds of years.

Title or Location: The View From My Balcony In Aventura Florida
When I was looking for a condo this view was the deciding factor for my purchase. I do all my paintings on my balcony, so why not paint the view. It was great painting a subject that was live, without having to peer down at a photo on a cell phone. The view itself starts from Miami Beach working North along the coast through Surfside, Bal Harbor, Haulover Park terminating in Sunny Isles Beach. Looking straight out, the distant green area is Oleta River State Park and FIU North Campus. The lo

This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
